Peter Malpas writes: "A year ago Chorley Council announced that they had bought the former McDonalds site and would be advertising their new units to retailers from plans and artist impressions of the £363,000 development. It’s not difficult letting off plans, after all new retail units are just building shells. It’s the shopfitters that do the really clever stuff once let.
EIGHT weeks ago the Labour-led Chorley Council said in a press release that they were “very close” to announcing the businesses who were taking up units.
Then SEVEN weeks ago the Labour Cabinet member told readers of the Chorley Guardian that new businesses would be moving in “within a few weeks”.
So I am wondering what the delay is? Can’t Chorley Council announce even just one of the tenants?"
