Dear Editor,
It’s really good news that since the general election, thanks to the Conservatives long term economic plan, the number of those needing to claim Job Seekers allowance in the Chorley Constituency has fallen by 44%, or 692 fewer people.
And looking at other local council areas, the fall across the rest of the north-west region was 45% and the rest of the Lancashire County area by 43.7%.
So when the Labour Leader of Chorley Council claimed in the Council chamber last week that their strategy and actions were responsible for a drop in Job Seeker Claimants across the Borough, I was surprised to find that Job Seeker claimants were down 44.4% - just in line with the Constituency, the rest of Lancashire and the rest of the north-west region.
Yours sincerely
Peter Malpas
