Local Conservative councillors are writing to residents in Whittle le Woods asking their support objecting to a planning application at Little Quarry, Hill Top Lane in Whittle-le-Woods.
The application seeks consent to further import construction wastes by heavy good vehicles in order to stabilise the already-filled quarry to allow the building of 85 homes which, despite local councillor objection, already has been given consent.
Councillors say the application would mean transporting of building waste along Chorley Old Road and Hill Top Lane between Monday and Saturday.
Local Conservative councillors object feeling that this application would bring more associated problems of HGV's driving through the village, mud deposits along the roads, and associated dust and mud pollution throughout the village.
County Councillor Mark Perks along with Borough Councillors Eric Bell, Greg Morgan and John Walker ask concerned residents to lodge any objections with Lancashire County Council by 7th September.
