Chorley Conservatives have made an exciting move to strengthen their presence in the rural areas of East Chorley, by creating a new super branch.
On the 17th June, Chorley Conservatives Executive Committee backed the new 'Chorley Rural East Conservatives' super branch, which will cover the areas of Adlington, Anderton, Heath Charnock, Rivington, Wheelton, Higher Wheelton, Withnell, Abbey Village, Brinscall and Pennine.
The move comes as the Conservatives in Chorley are planning to build on their successes at the Local Elections in May 2015. The Conservatives managed to retain all the seats they previously held, as well as win a key marginal back from the Labour Party. Support for the Conservatives was high, with majorities of over 400 in seats such as Chisnall and Astley and Buckshaw, which were targeted by both parties very heavily.
The ambitions are high for the new branch, with three of the four wards having elections in 2016.
Andrew Snowden writes "Chorley Rural East Conservatives may be just a few weeks old, but the branch are already well under-way with planning the selection of local government candidates for the next elections, and plan on hitting the ground running with campaigns, fundraisers and local events."
The new branch is welcoming to any new members who may be interested in joining, donating or campaigning with the branch team, and all enquiries should be sent to interim Chairman, Andrew Snowden. Andrew can be contacted on 07882 673 340 or at [email protected]
