Chorley's parliamentary candidate Rob Loughenbury writes "A very big thank you to everyone who donated gifts to the Child Action North West Christmas appeal.
The response in Chorley was very strong and overall the charity received tenfold the number of gifts this year. Please understand that your generous donations made Christmas for many children who may not otherwise have received a present.
It has been a real privilege to help coordinate the appeal in Chorley and become involved with a charity that does so much vital work supporting young people throughout the year. I encourage everyone to visit their website at www.canw.org.uk to find out more about what they do.
Special thanks are due to our partners, Cakes by Ruth on St George’s Street in Chorley Town Centre, and The Hub in Buckshaw Village, who kindly allowed their premises to be used as collection points for donated gifts.
Many thanks as well to those who, like the Chorley Guardian, helped to make the appeal a success by finding space for it in their pages, blogs and radio shows.
Happy New Year!"
