Chorley’s County Councillors and local MP Lindsay Hoyle held a cross-party meeting with health officials to discuss reforms to the provision of local health care being developed under the Our Health Our Care programme.
At the meeting a wide range of issues relating to health care were discussed, but particular emphasis was placed on the provision of A&E and acute care services at both Chorley and Preston Hospitals.
In response to rumours that changes to the A&E services were under immediate threat, assurances were given by the Chief Executive of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that no changes to the current A&E provision at the hospitals would be made outside of, or prior to, the work of the Our Health Our Care programme.
