Rob Loughenbury writes "Over the Easter weekend David Cameron came back to Buckshaw to see how the Conservative Help to Buy mortgage scheme is helping working people get onto the housing ladder.
The Prime Minister met Rob and Kelly, a young couple with small children who own their first home thanks to Help to Buy. Rob and Kelly are among the 269 people in Chorley constituency who have used Help to Buy to become property owners.
I know from personal experience how hard it is to get onto the housing ladder. Working people deserve to be able to buy a home of their own and I am proud that 88,000 people in the country are new home owners thanks to Help to Buy.
Isn’t it extraordinary that Labour has opposed a policy that has helped so many working people achieve their aspirations?
Conservatives now plan to introduce a new Homebuyer ISA, giving savers £50 back for every £200 they save towards a deposit on a new home. We will also fund delivery of 200,000 homes, available at a 20% discount to first time buyers under-40.
Chorley is a key marginal constituency, one of those that the Conservatives must win to help us form a government. Your vote really could make a difference – let’s keep Ed Miliband and Alex Salmond out of power."
