Home Secretary Theresa May MP came to Lancashire today to launch the county-wide campaign to elect Tim Ashton as the County's first Police and Crime Commissioner.
Here in Chorley members and supporters have been busy building up to the elections to be held on Thursday 15th November.
"We've been busy delivering to households across Chorley, and we will soon be delivering Tim Ashton's election address" said Peter Malpas, Chairman of Chorley Conservatives.
"The reality is that at the moment electors can hold nobody to account for how the police spends its' budget and directs its' resources. Everyone on the present police authority is a political nominee. With a Police Commissioner everyone in the County will have one person to hold to account on how crime is being reduced in their local area".
