We sometimes hear from Labour about how hard done by their councils have been treated by the Conservative-led coalition. But figures indicates whilst all councils have been asked to make savings as everyone else, the actual spending power per household across councils significantly differs.
This table shows the spending power per household across Lancashire. Councils with more challenges, like Burnley, Pendle and Hyndburn have significantly more to spend than Ribble Valley and Fylde.
Councils really need to look at streamlining their back-office roles and share services. Chorley is a fine example.
