Rob has welcomed a senior Government Minister responsible for broadband to Brinscall to launch a new superfast street cabinet. Digital Economy Minister Ed Vaizey spoke with Rob about the difference the new infrastructure investment will make for local residents.
The new cabinet will deliver superfast broadband for 240 homes in the village, with download speeds of up to 80MB per second and upload speeds of up to 20MB per second.
Rob said: “Brinscall residents will really feel the benefit of this infrastructure investment. First-class broadband will make it easier for people to work at home, for children to do their homework and for everyone to enjoy browsing online. It is another example of this Government investing in Lancashire.”
Ed Vaizey said “I’m delighted that homes and businesses in Brinscall have today joined the 105,000 other premises in Lancashire that our rollout of superfast broadband has already reached.
“The transformation of the UK’s digital landscape is a key part of the Government’s long-term economic plan and our investment will help deliver faster and more reliable broadband to 97 per cent of Lancashire by the end of this year.”
