The Health Secretary, Wes Streeting, yesterday confirmed that Labour are breaking another election promise by delaying the delivery of dozens of new hospitals, including two planned for Lancashire, denying patients the investment and high quality facilities they deserve.
- Despite promising in their election manifesto to deliver the New Hospitals Programme in full, the Labour Government has announced that the building of 25 projects will now be delayed – with some hospitals not even starting construction until 2039.
- To govern is to choose, and Labour have chosen not to prioritise the delivery of these new hospitals. Just as they have already betrayed working people, pensioners, businesses and farmers, they have also broken their promises to the NHS.
