Local Conservatives have named their pick to be Chorley’s next MP. At a meeting of local Party members at St Joseph’s Parish Centre, Saturday, Rob Loughenbury was chosen to fight the Chorley Constituency at the next General Election.
Rob Loughenbury is currently moving to Greater Manchester to start a new job in the property development sector. Rob is an experienced school governor, an amateur rugby player and a practising Roman Catholic. His professional background is in academia and politics.
Rob said, “I am excited to have been selected and grateful for the support of local members. This week I plan to start knocking on doors to listen to the concerns of residents and I look forward to working closely with local people in coming years.
Like so many others, I know how hard it is to save a deposit for a first home. I know how hard it is for working people to raise a young family at the moment. I get it, and I want to do something about it, which is why I am standing up for this area.
It has never been more important for our politicians to be on the side of hard working people.”
