At their Annual General Meeting, the Conservative Group on Chorley Council have selected their new leader Cllr Greg Morgan (Clayton and Whittle Ward) takes over and Cllr Paul Leadbetter (Chisnall Ward) becomes his deputy.
Cllr Peter Goldsworthy (Euxton South) had decided to stand down after beeing leader and opposition leader for many years service.
"When I was on Chorley Council, I found Peter Goldsworthy was great to work with and an excellent leader. In meetings he had a great skill of asking that question he knew others were dying to ask on behalf of other new or inexperienced members. It was his way of helping meetings along." said Chairman Peter Malpas.
"The Chorley Conservative Association wish Greg, Paul and their new team well as they develop their strategies leading up to next years elections".
Cllr Peter Goldsworthy continues to represent Chorley's Euxton South Ward along with colleague Cllr Geoff Russell.
