Since the Conservatives won control of the County Council in May this year, the new team has been working hard not only to deliver on the party's manifesto pledges to the people of Lancashire - but to get a grip on the projects that under Labour's poor track record had gone over budget and behind schedule.
County Cllr Andrew Snowden, Lead Member for Highways and Transport, said "All the hard work we have been putting in since winning control of the Council is paying off. Broughton bypass now looks set to open well earlier than Labour said they could do it by and we have started to recover elements of the budget overspend. When you add this to the £1 million for more buses and £5.6 million for improvements highways and flood protections - Lancashire really is better off with the Conservatives".
