Conservative Councillors who represent Whittle-le-Woods on Chorley and Lancashire County councils are urging residents to have their say on a new planning application recently submitted to Lancashire County Council.
In a leaflet being delivered to residents over Christmas they write "Your Borough and County Councillors would like to draw your attention to the planning application LCC/2017/0095 for Little Quarry, Hill Top Lane, Whittle-le-Woods that has recently been submitted by Ruttles Limited."
"The application is for further import of construction wastes by heavy goods vehicles in order to stabilise the already filled quarry for Ruttles to build 85 houses on the quarry site, previously passed by Chorley Council in 2013". Local councillors objected to that plan.
The councillors say that the new application is to transport waste into the quarry along Chorley Old Road and Hill Top Lane operating at the quarry Monday to Saturday. They add that they object and feel this application will bring more associated problems of heavy goods vehicles driving through the village, mud deposits on roads, associated dust and mud pollution throughout the village.
In conclusion they add that "If you feel as concerned as we do, please lodge your objections to this application by emailing Lancashire's development control or by post to Lancashire County Council, Development Management Group, PO Box 100, County Hall, PRESTON, PR1 0LD to be received by 6th January 2018, and quoting LCC/2017/0095.
