Chorley's Labour Council have reported that over the last fourteen months they recorded 1,713 incidents of dog fouling across our parliamentary constituency area, 1,866 over the whole borough.
Surprisingly, they also report no prosecutions were made during the same period.
This is despite the Council part funding of Police Community Support Officers who have the responsibility for environmental issues such as this. A Council concentrating on big projects and leaving us the residents in a mess.
The figures were released from an information request by Peter Malpas, one of our campaigners and our candidate for Chorley's Astley and Buckshaw Ward.
Dog fouling regularly appears in responses to our surveys. So we ask, should Chorley's Labour Council be prosecuting dog fouling cases? Please take part in our survey.
